    Mesa Verde Kids

    A small-grouped licenced daycare, located on a quiet, residential and dead-end street, and a minute walk to two beautiful nature parks, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Under the loving care of a highly experienced and devoted teacher, Mesa Verde Kids embraces a creative, play-based and emergent curriculum which fosters children's curiosity and natural impulse to explore and investigate the how's and why's of the world around them. Social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills are naturally strengthened in a relaxed and fun environment.

     

    The children's space is a fully equipped classroom that is separate from Jeanette's living quarters. The outdoor space is well shaded and equipped with a large covered sandbox, mud kitchens, a climbing dome, and natural materials such as rocks and logs for endless creative play.

     

    *Safe and sanitary practices are followed according to the CDC and NM DOH guidelines for residential daycares.

    Meet Jeanette

    I absolutely love working with children, and they certainly keep me young... at heart anyway! I have been an early childhood teacher for many years, spending a large portion at Santa Fe's beloved school, The Gentle Nudge. Aside from teaching, I love spending time with my husband Mario, my kitty and my two strong and beautiful granddaughters. I also enjoy painting, sewing and hiking.

    "I came to Mesa Verde Kids with high expectations, as I knew Jeanette from before (she taught both my girls at Gentle Nudge). But here, in her own sweet space, Jeanette has impressed me even more!

     

    She provides children with a healthy balance of structure and choices throughout the day (with the flexibility and appreciative responsiveness to the moment that seasoned teachers bring). Independence is not forced, but cultivated gently, with appropriate and patient support. The children just lap it up, growing ever more joyful and confident.

     

    The curriculum is perfect for this age group. The focus on art, science, and nature allows children to learn about the world and themselves in creative and age-appropriate ways. I've enjoyed seeing my daughter's fine motor and pre-literacy skills flourish organically through fun games and activities that tie into larger themes relevant to the world outside school.

     

    I knew from before that Jeanette's social-emotional cueing would be spot on. Her classroom at Gentle Nudge was reliably calm, happy, and peaceful. With all of that said, there is something magical about this small group of four. Every kid is friends with everyone else. They learn so much about teamwork as they undertake projects together and invent their own games. Even in the midst of this nightmare that is Covid, my daughter has had an idyllic year at Mesa Verde Kids. I highly recommend it! "
